Taneestar Cohen is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience. She brings seasoned clinical judgment, thoughtful diagnostic insight, and a patient-centered approach to psychiatric care.

Her professional background includes more than a decade in Sleep Medicine, where she developed a strong understanding of the connection between sleep, mood regulation, cognitive functioning, and overall psychiatric stability. This experience strengthened her ability to recognize clinical patterns that often contribute to complex or overlapping symptom presentations.

Taneestar earned her Post-Graduate Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Wilkes University and holds Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification from Wilmington University, where she graduated with Honors and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Her clinical practice is grounded in evidence-based psychopharmacology, careful differential diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning. She takes an integrative approach, considering biological, psychological, and environmental factors when developing comprehensive care strategies tailored to each patient.

She treats a range of conditions across the adult lifespan, including depression, ADHD, mood disorders, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, trauma-related conditions, and sleep disturbances. In addition to symptom reduction, she prioritizes functional restoration, emotional regulation, cognitive clarity, and long-term stability.
