Kate Fackina, MA, LPC, LMHC, ATR-BC

Kate is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist with over a decade of experience working with clients ranging from children to older adults in higher levels of care, community mental health, hospital, and outpatient settings. Her background has encompassed working with people experiencing eating disorders, anxiety-related disorders, complex trauma, substance use, pediatric oncology, a wide range of mental health diagnoses, complex medical conditions, family conflict, and caregiver fatigue. She has expertise working with individuals, groups, and families. In addition to being a therapist, Kate has served in various leadership and supervisory roles. She values working with others, especially to ensure that her clients receive quality care. Kate is committed to providing counseling that is inclusive and just.

People seek counseling for many reasons—life’s daily stressors feeling hard to manage, adversities and losses, major transitions, and navigating relationships. Kate’s work embodies cultural considerations and attention to the fabric of a person’s system; she uses expressive arts therapy techniques as a means of communication for what sometimes may be impossible to vocalize. Kate contextualizes those she works with within their own sense of who they are, their family and social support, and the broader systems that may impact them. Kate’s approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered, honoring each client’s specific strengths, values, and lived experiences.

Kate brings warmth, compassion, and transparency to the therapeutic relationship. She believes in the importance of building a trusting and safe therapeutic environment to foster growth, change, and insight. Kate’s therapeutic style is grounded in trauma-informed interventions, attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, systems theory, and expressive arts and holistic approaches to treatment.
